An Absurdist drama questions the significance of an individual’s role in his or her own life and the relative importance their actions make on the world at large. One of the best known Muslim philosophers was Ibn Sina (Avicenna), 980-1037, who helped further develop Neoplatonism, a systematic combination of Plato and other Greek philosophers with religious beliefs. Here, and in some other features, a scientifically based religion is actually closer in values to inspired religion than to modern eclectic humanism; for it considers that the universe has a lot to teach man, and that he would be absurd trying to shape it to his pygmy mind, instead of stretching his mental stature to its demands.

In every purpose there is universality, in this sense that every purpose is comprehensible to every man. Existentialism tends to view human beings as subjects in an indifferent, objective, often ambiguous, and "absurd" universe in which meaning is not provided by the natural order, but rather can be created, however provisionally and unstably, by human beings' actions and interpretations.
